Introducing Blogging and Media to Online Businesses
The Victorian small business festival will be kicking off in a few weeks. A festival proudly sponsored by the Vic government giving small businesses the opportunities to attend information and networking events to help grow their businesses.
Markets and Community’s owner Nitty Brown has decided to take this opportunity to run a networking morning for online business and stallholders at markets to help them meet some like- minded businesses as well as listen to some fantastic speakers.
Magdalena Franco from Unleash Creative will be speaking on the benefits of blogging to help businesses reach a target audience that cannot usually be captured through social media. Franco has over 12 years of marketing, PR, communications and events experience across a variety of entertainment and children’s brands, a blogger for the past few years she has written about her journey into living a more creative life, making and selling her handmade products at Melbourne markets and craft as a whole.
The second speaker at the event is Linda Reed-Enever from Media Creations, who will be speaking on getting your business in front of the media, an imperative tool to use to build your business in relations to PR.
Media Connections gives businesses opportunities to connect with journalist who are looking for stories to publish. Directed by Linda Reed-Enever herself, Media Connections was created as the place where story ideas, media and publicity meet! With a growing database of journalists Media Connections members are able to share their stories and media releases with the media.
“I do both, blogging and using media connections for my business, which has been fantastic tools in marketing my business to help it grow” says Brown, which is the reason why she wants to give these small businesses similar opportunities through her networking events.
Many business owners aren’t aware that there is a lot of help around and they don’t have to pay a fortune, you usually become aware of these opportunities by getting out there and networking says Brown.
Markets and Community give business owners an opportunity to join their online community where the company’s vision is to help promote these businesses in this competitive virtual world.
Holding regular events is part of what we do says Brown, as many of these businesses are sole traders that work from home, they don’t get opportunities to network or find out about changing trends in social media and marketing to help them grow, our events are focused on these businesses, the speakers cover topics relating to these businesses directly.
Tickets for the networking morning are on sale through Eventbrite, the event will be held on the 4th August 2014 at the Festival Hub in Federation Square, Melbourne from 10:00am. Tickets are $25 each.
