Piccadilly Market Malvern

Geelong Meets Malvern

The highly successful Piccadilly Market decided to take a trip down to Melbourne and have a market at Malvern Town Hall on Sunday, 14th June 2015.  After plenty of advertising and promotions they hit the nail with over 1000 visitors attending the first ever Piccadilly Market in Malvern.

Piccadilly Market is an artisans market that features unique and beautiful products from local talented artists.  The market has a feel of true artists with products ranging from handmade cards to the trendiest gumboots I have seen.

Janina the founder and organiser for the market is originally a Melbourne girl from the Malvern area and has been wanting to take the market to her hometown for years.  With the support of her regular stallholders, she took the leap and was rewarded with an amazing first market.

We asked Janina why Piccadilly Market is different to other boutique markets in Melbourne.  She points out that each market has its own distinct personality and vibe.  The mix of businesses she chooses to showcase can vary from what someone else would choose.  Some of her Geelong regulars felt confident giving Melbourne a go with her so they did add a new element to the market.

Markets and Community do like to give shoutouts to up and coming talent, we asked Janina to handpick a few which put her on the spot as she handpicks everyone and believe they are all fabulous but we have picked a few that we loved.

Lalika who had the nicest smelling heat/cold wheat packs; they have a gorgeous range of products, perfect for your winter nights.

Unforgettable Products sell beautiful lemon curds, chocolate sauce, pastry cases, meringues and more.  I always buy a present to take home from the market to my family and I had the pleasure of getting them delicious berry meringues.

A newcomer to the market was Merry People Designs who have some very cool gumboots and I mean they were very groovy.  I am actually going to purchase a pair to wear to my son’s Auskick.

Koolaman Designs were there with their beautiful hand stamped jewellery.

Finally, I purchased myself a gorgeous designer handbag from sophietaylor Melbourne.  I do love my designer bags and just couldn’t help myself with this one.

I certainly did enjoy the market and its shopping that was offered.  My next trip will be over to Geelong to experience what Piccadilly Market Geelong has to offer.
