SOUTHBANK FARMERS MARKET (ACCREDITED FARMERS MARKET)

Southbank Farmers’ Market at the Boyd Community Hub Melbourne Farmers Markets are thrilled to have the first VFMA accredited farmers’ market located within the City of Melbourne. The Southbank Farmers’ Market is located at the Boyd Community Hub, 207 City Road - right in the heart of Southbank. The idea for this market germinated from the City Of Melbourne’s 2012 Food Policy Framework. An accredited farmers’ market is the ideal vehicle to address food security, sustainability and healthy eating in the municipality, providing the 15,000 residents in the area with access to fresh Victorian produce, direct from local food producers. A heritage-listed site, formerly home to JH Boyd Girls' High School, the Boyd Community Hub includes the Southbank Library, maternal & child health services and playgroup room, a café, Creative Spaces – Boyd Studios, meeting rooms and our monthly market. The market is plastic-bag free. Melbourne Farmers' Market would like to thank Cayzer Real Estate and Kere Kere Cafe for their support of the Southbank Farmers' Market.
