The aroma of food drifting from New Orleans’ French Quarter eateries. The coloured strands of Mardi Gras beads and ethereal Spanish moss dripping from the trees. The rattle of the street car making its way down St Charles Avenue. The magic behind the first bite of a to-die-for pastry. Vanessa and Stephanie’s Lollyfique is a tribute to the landscapes, people and sweets of Louisiana’s Crescent City and its unique cultural hybrid of French, Haitian and Spanish influence. Their Melbourne farmer’s market stall sells fresh bakes just the way Mama used to make, serving up a delectable selection of beignets, brioche and an array of small cakes including petite flour-less chocolate gateaux, tiny almond tortes and miniature pecan pies. Inspired by Cajun and Parisian recipes, and the traditional cooking of their grandmother, Lollyfique creates sweet down home treats to share amongst friends, gift to family, or serve as desserts at a dinner party. On the flip side, up the selfish stakes and enjoy all to yourself. Shh,we won’t tell anybody! Each cake and pastry is prepared using the most glorious ingredients, lovingly hand crafted and elegantly presented. Taste bud tingling and ridiculously delicious, Lollyfique delivers Melbourne’s best bites via the Big Easy! Lollyfique's stall can be found at Bayside Farmers Market. The third Saturday of every month from 8:00AM to 1:00PM.
